California Assembly Bill 469 requires that all 12th-grade students complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), California Dream Act Application (CADAA), or the opt-out form prior to the end of the school year.

Completion of the FAFSA is necessary in order to qualify for federal student aid such as grants, work-study, and loans.  In addition, many states (including California), colleges and organizations use the FAFSA information to determine eligibility for state, school and local financial aid.  Your school’s College Counselor is available to provide students and parents with guidance and assistance with completing the FAFSA or CADAA through one-on-one and small group meetings.
