Schedule Changes

 SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUESTS & GUIDELINES

The Grace M. Davis Counseling Department is working hard to ensure that all students are placed in classes and engaged in educational activities from the first day of school. In order for this to happen, we ask that students and parents respectfully follow the schedule change guidelines below: 

NO, you cannot change your schedule if you want:

  • A different teacher / different period

  • To change your elective/ or change a class that you selected on your ballot

  • Drop a class because your college plans change

  • To drop an AP/Honors class*

YES, you may be able to change your schedule if you:

  • Have a “See Counselor” on your schedule

  • Are a Senior who needs a class for graduation

  • Have an incomplete schedule/ Missing period

  • Have duplicate courses on your schedule

  • Are missing a required course for your grade level

  • Are misplaced in the wrong level of a class

  • Took a course in summer school that is on your schedule

FOR A SCHEDULE CHANGE, students must visit their counselor in person to discuss any change that meets the above criteria.

STUDENTS MUST follow their original schedule until it gets changed by their counselor.

(SCHOOLOGY MESSAGES OR EMAILS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED ONCE SCHOOL BEGINS). 

Please keep in mind that this is a very busy time in the counseling office. We appreciate your patience as counselors try to process requests in a timely manner. As always, emails and phone calls are welcome, however, response times may be delayed.
